Lifestyle or Genetics?

January 25, 2009

Check out this free short video that PBS NOVA science NOW has on their website:

Your lifestyle and your environment can change the way your genes are expressed, leading even identical twins to become distinct as they age. This field of research is called epigenetics.  This study tells us that how you live your life directly affects your health, and the health of your future generations! Your genes can be said to be more or less like a bunch of piano keys that you’re given at birth and the lifestyle you lead throughout your life is the music that you play. What kind of music are you playing? A beautiful melody like Beethoven’s symphony No. 9, or chopsticks?

Your health coach,

Dr. Ryan Hewitt
